Abstract

Background: School Health Efforts are integrated activities aimed at improving student health through preventive, curative, and rehabilitative approaches implemented within the school environment. The UKS program is crucial for school-age children, a large population in Indonesia, with approximately 22 million children aged 10-14 with a percentage of 14%. Students are not merely passive recipients but also play a role in implementing the UKS program. The purpose of this Study: Was to determine the role of students in supporting School Health Efforts (UKS) at SMP N 1 Sadang, Kebumen Regency. The Research Method: Used was descriptive quantitative research. The study was conducted at SMP N 1 Sadang, Kebumen, in November 2025, with a sample of 150 respondents using a purposive sampling method. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The Results of the Study: Showed that the majority of respondents were aged ≤ 14 years, as many as 100 (66.7%) respondents, the majority of female gender was 87 (58%) respondents, the role of students as recipients of UKS benefits was good as many as 100 (66.7%) respondents, the role of students as implementers of UKS activities was sufficient as many as 68 (45.3%) respondents, the role of students as providers of health information was less than 77 (51.3%) respondents. The Conclusion: Is that students' roles in supporting UKS efforts are categorized as good, with their roles as UKS beneficiaries falling within the good category. Their roles as UKS implementers are categorized as adequate, and their roles as UKS implementers are categorized as poor. Recommendations: For future research include expanding the study to examine the relationship between student roles and the success of the UKS program and the factors influencing its implementation.
