Abstract

Background: Child development includes motor, language, social, and independence aspects. The high prevalence of undernutrition, including 78 toddlers in Bumiayu Subdistrict, increases the risk of developmental delays. Early detection through KPSP and stimulation through Group Activity Therapy (GAT) are important efforts, one of which is cube-arranging activities to stimulate fine motor skills while observing development according to KPSP indicators. Objective: This activity aims to determine children’s development through the implementation of GAT (cube-arranging) and assessment using KPSP in Adisana Village, Bumiayu Subdistrict. Methods: The activity included preparation, KPSP education, demonstration of cube-arranging GAT, observation of children's abilities, and evaluation. The target consisted of 20 children aged 1–6 years. Data were obtained through KPSP booklets, observation sheets, and GAT assessment. Results: The results showed that all participating children were in the “Appropriate (S)” developmental category according to their respective ages. The implementation of cube-arranging GAT was also effective as a medium for stimulation and observation of children’s fine motor skills. Conclusion: Developmental assessment using KPSP combined with Group Activity Therapy (cube-arranging) is effective in detecting child development and increasing parents’ knowledge about the importance of early detection of growth and development. Recommendation: Future researchers should conduct routine developmental monitoring using KPSP, enhance stimulation at home by parents, and expand GAT activities as part of posyandu programs.
