Abstract
Background: The roof tile industry in Aditirto Village is a small-scale business with manual work processes that pose a high risk of workplace accidents due to psychological, physical, and environmental factors, the use of unsafe tools, and low compliance with PPE. These conditions increase the incidence of workplace accidents in the roof tile manufacturing process in Aditirto Village, Pejagoan District. Research Purpose: To determine the factors that cause work accidents in the roof tile making process in Aditirto Village, Pejagoan District. Research Method: This descriptive study used a survey method, employing purposive sampling of 68 tile factory workers in Aditirto Village. Data were collected through a work accident questionnaire and analyzed univariately. Results: Most tile factory workers in Aditirto Village are aged 56–65 years (47.1%), have a junior high school education (51.5%), and are predominantly female (55.9%). Occupational accidents include being struck by objects (29.4%), transport accidents (26.5%), falls (17.6%), and injuries caused by machinery (13.2%), with the most common injuries affecting the hands (47.1%) and feet (41.2%). The main tool causing accidents is the cart (39.7%). The most common psychological factors experienced by workers are anxiety and difficulty concentrating (79.4% each), physical factors such as fatigue (69.1%), and environmental factors such as heat (29.4%) and machine noise (17.6%). Conclusion: Occupational accidents among tile factory workers in Aditirto Village most often involve being struck by falling objects, with injuries to the hands and feet, typically caused by carts. The main contributing factors include psychological factors (anxiety and difficulty concentrating), physical fatigue, and a hot work environment. Recommendations: Further research is recommended to examine other variables such as workload, ergonomics, SOP compliance, and psychosocial factors in more depth.
