Abstract

Background: Hypertension is the most prevalent non communicable disease and the leading cause of stroke, characterized by elevated systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The prevalence of hypertension increases every year, particularly in the elderly population. Health complications resulting from hypertension include heart failure, aneurysms, vision problems, kidney failure, stroke, and metabolic syndrome, and if left uncontrolled, hypertension can lead to death. Objective: To evaluate the nursing care of hypertension patients by using the innovative approach of warm water foot soaks to reduce blood pressure in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This case study utilized a descriptive approach to describe and analyze significant events. Results: Implementing nursing interventions using foot soak therapy in five patients resulted in a measurable decrease in blood pressure. Conclusion: The innovative nursing intervention of administering foot soak therapy to five patients significantly reduced blood pressure.
