Abstract

Background : Postpartum anemia is defined as a condition characterized by a decrease in hemoglobin levels below normal values as a result of which it can interfere with the blood's capacity to transport oxygen around the body. Lack of hemoglobin in the blood can lead to more serious complications for the mother both in pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Purpose : Describe the results of nursing care to increase knowledge and hemoglobin levels of postpartum mothers with nutrition education for balanced nutrition plates at KRT Setjonegoro Wonosobo Hospital. Method : This study uses a descriptive method of a case study approach, with a total of 5 respondents. The research instrument used was by education on nutrition of balanced nutrition plates given 3x (First day: anemia in postpartum mothers; second day: changes in the postpartum period; Third day: Education on the provision of balanced nutrition plates to postpartum mothers) and continued with an examination of Hb levels on the 7th day of postpartum mothers to carry out control at the hospital. Result : The results of the assessment that has been carried out on five respondents obtained data that all five respondents experienced mild anemia. The nursing intervention provided was the provision of nutrition education for balanced nutrition plates. After three implementations with an interval of 15 minutes and evaluation, the results were obtained that the provision of education could increase the Hb level of postpartum mothers on the 7th day. Further research recommendations : The results of this study should be used as basic data for further research and it is hoped that future research will use more adequate and efficient time, energy and facilities as much as possible and involve families in this intervention.
