Abstract

Background : Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease caused by the body's inability to produce or use the hormone insulin optimally, resulting in an increase in blood sugar levels. Based on data from WHO and the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus continues to increase globally and in Indonesia. Diet plays an important role in controlling this disease, with the 3J principles (Schedule, Amount and Type of food). Research Objective : to find out the description of the eating patterns of Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in Kabekelan Village, Prembun District. Research Methods : This research uses descriptive research to describe events that occur in a population. Research Result : From the research results, researchers can conclude that the diet of diabetes mellitus sufferers in Kabekelan Village, Prembun District is in the quite good category, as many as 50 respondents (64.9%), while in the good category there are 7 respondents (9.1%). Conclusion : Based on the results of research on the eating habits of diabetes mellitus sufferers in Kabekelan Village, Prembun District, researchers can say that with a total of 57 respondents and 20 people in the bad category, the eating habits of diabetes mellitus sufferers are in the fair category. good category. Recommendations : Researchers hope that diabetes mellitus sufferers pay attention to their diet to support health and meet daily needs.
