Abstract

Background: Every pregnancy has the potential to carry risks or complications during childbirth, which can lead to maternal suffering and even death. Antenatal Care (ANC) is a periodic health service aimed at improving the health of pregnant women and their fetuses. ANC is influenced by maternal knowledge and attitudes. A mother's knowledge about ANC affects her decision to undergo pregnancy check-ups, while her attitude reflects her understanding and can influence her response to the received information. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and attitudes with the completeness of the K6 antenatal care visits at Sempor I Community Health Center. Methods: This study used a correlational design to examine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women with the completeness of K6 ANC visits. The researcher measured knowledge and attitudes through a questionnaire, while the number of ANC visits was obtained from each respondent's MCH handbook. The study included a sample of 87 respondents, calculated using the Slovin formula and selected through purposive sampling. The statistical test used was the chi-square test. Results: Respondents with good knowledge tended to complete the K6 ANC visits, with a p-value of 0.002 (<0.05), indicating a relationship between knowledge and the completeness of K6 ANC visits. Similarly, respondents with a positive attitude were more likely to complete K6 ANC visits, with a p-value of 0.028 (<0.05), also indicating a relationship between attitude and the completeness of K6 ANC visits. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between knowledge levels and attitudes with the completeness of K6 ANC visits. Recommendation: It is expected that for further research, additional variables can be added, namely factors that may influence the completeness of ANC visits.
