Abstract
Background: Nausea and vomiting are among the earliest, most common, and most stressful symptoms associated with pregnancy. Approximately 70–85% of pregnant women experience nausea and vomiting, which is often considered a typical consequence of early pregnancy. Objective: This paper aims to describe nursing care through the use of lemon aromatherapy for first-trimester pregnant women experiencing emesis gravidarum with the primary issue of nausea. Method: This final scientific paper used a case study approach with a descriptive method. The instrument used was an observation sheet. The case study involved three respondents who were pregnant women in their first trimester experiencing nausea and vomiting. The interventions provided were based on the Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI), with the addition of lemon aromatherapy application. Results: In this case study, all three clients were diagnosed with the primary nursing problem of nausea. The nursing intervention provided was lemon aromatherapy administered over three consecutive mornings for approximately 25 minutes each session. The therapy showed a reduction in nausea levels in all clients. Recommendation: The results of this study can be applied to first-trimester pregnant women experiencing nausea and vomiting as an alternative nonpharmacological intervention.
