Abstract
Background: Pain is a major problem in the treatment of pain post surgery which is a defense mechanism of the body that occurs when there is damage to the tissue and cause the individual to react in a way to move the pain stimulus. Meanwhile, according to the International for the study of pain is a sensory and emotional experiences that disagreeable, associated with tissue damage that actual or potential, or describing the conditions of the occurrence of the damage Objective: Analyzing of nursing care in post laparotomi clients with the main problem of acute pain in ICU Room of Dr Soedirman Kebumen Hospital. Methods: This scientific paper used a descriptive case study design. The subject of the case study was 3 post laparotomi clients, who had acute pain problems. Data collection using observation, interview and documentation study. Results: Based on the results of the evaluation of the three clients after being given a five-finger hypnosis technique it was found that there was a decrease in the scale of pain in the client. The client said he was able to take the steps of the five-finger hypnosis technique that he had been taught and would try to do five fingers hypnosis when he felt pain. Recomendation: It is suggested for ICU Room of Dr Soedirman Kebumen Hospital to apply pain management of nonpharmacological using five fingers hypnosis in independent nursing intervention.
