Abstract

Background : According to Riskesdas (2018) that the injury prevalence of Indonesia was 9.2%. While in Central Java province in 2018, it happened to 6.9%. Based on the pilot study in state junior high 2 Kebumen, the students had a lack of knowledge related to a first aid sports injury. Objective: Identifying students’ knowledge and emergency first aid for a sports injury in the 3dr students of state junior high 2 Kebumen. Methods: This study used descriptive technique and all 2nd years students recruited as respondents. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire. Results: The results showed, as many as 151 respondents (83.9%) were in good knowledge category in first aid sports injuries. There were 103 students (57.2%) who had an adequate in first aid sports injuries practice. Conclusion: This study showed that students’ knowledge in first aid for sports injury was in good category and students’ practice in first aid for sports injury was adequate category. Recommendation: the further researcher should add more respondent and another variable are related to student’ ability in emergency first aid for a sports injury.
