Abstract

ackground : The process of the elderly will experien periods of change and decline in psychological and physical functions , this will bring up a lot of problems that occur to the elderly which will provide a guide in evaluating their own bodies . Efforts to increase self - esteem can be carried out with various simulations , including cognitive therapy , group activity therapy with perception simulation and Reminiscence therapy Objective : To analyze nursing care for the elderly related to the main problem of low self - esteem . Methods : The research method is descriptive with a case study approach . The case study subjects were 5 families with advanced stages of development . The tools in this study were the nursing care format , the Rosenberg low self - esteem questionnaire . Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data , which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results : The results of the study conducted on families with the elderly stage with low self - esteem . Priority nursing diagnoses in clients with low self - esteem . Nursing interventions are carried out based on family functions in caring for clients with low self - esteem by using reminiscence therapy . The results of nursing evaluations on clients with low self - esteem there is an increase in self - esteem with an average increase from 23 to 26 . Conclution : The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for handling low self - esteem by using reminiscence therapy by families and health facilities
