Abstract

Background: Giving antihypertensive drugs is expected to control the patient's blood pressure. Adherence to treatment is an important factor in the continued health and well-being of hypertensive patients. However, there are still some patients with various complications of hypertension because they do not take medication regularly. Based on data from the health center for hypertension patients, some are lazy to take medication, often forget and feel healthy, therefore it is necessary to evaluate patient compliance with the use of antihypertensive drugs to create a healthy and prosperous society. Objective: Evaluating the level of adherence to the use of antihypertensive drugs in outpatient adult patients at Ayah I Community Health Center of Kebumen. Methode : This type of research uses a survey design with analytic methods. A sample of 72 hypertensive patients at Ayah I Community Health Center of Kebumen was taken using purposive sampling technique. Results : Based on the results of the study showed that the majority of respondents had low adherence in the use of antihypertensive drugs as many as 34 (47.2%), respondents who had moderate adherence to the use of antihypertensive drugs as many as 27 (37.5%) and respondents who had high adherence in the use of drugs. antihypertensive as many as 11 people (15.3%) people. So that, the level of compliance is categorized as low in taking antihypertensive drugs. Measuring compliance was done using the MMAS – 8 questionnaire containing 8 questions with a total score of 8 and categories for high level of compliance (score = 8), moderate level of compliance (score = 6 < 8), low level of compliance (score = <6). Conclusion: Evaluation of Compliance with the Use of Antihypertensive Drugs in Outpatient Adult Patients at Ayah I Community Health Center of Kebumen, the majority of the level of compliance is categorized as low in the use of antihypertensive drugs.
