Abstract
Background: Based on the Health Office (2020), the number of people with hypertension in the elderly is 40.2%. This arises as a result of a global lifestyle, which includes easier access to fast food. Purpose Conducting: Health education about hypertension and tomato juice therapy to reduce blood pressure in families with the elderly in the Ngampel Village Area, Purworejo Regency. Research Method: This typed of studied used descriptive techniques of a nursing action. The data collection instruments used was observation sheets, tomato juice therapy methods, counseling and used a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope to measured blood pressure in determining the variable valued of the researched subjects. Result: After the assessment with the intervention carried out namely providing health education about hypertension and providing tomato juice therapy by drinking it every morning and evening. In the evaluation carried out for 5 days, significant results were obtained in reducing blood pressure by 5 mmHg decrease every day. Recommendations: Hypertension health education and the application of tomato juice therapy are effective ways to increase knowledge and change healthy living behavior.
