Abstract
Background: Stroke is a nerve damage encountered by a blockage in a blood vessel. The most common consequences of stroke are touch disorders, abdominal pain, numbness in the hands and feet, swallowing disorders, visual disturbances, speech disorders or aphasia. One of the non-pharmacological treatments to treat speech disorders is AIUEO speech therapy. Objective: Describe Nursing Care in Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke patients to improve communication skills. Method: This scientific paper is descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained from studies, interviews, and observations with three respondents who suffered from Non-Hemorrhagic Stroke. Results: After applying AIUEO speech therapy for 3 consecutive days, communication skills improved as evidenced by an increase in the derby scale in all three patients. Recommendation: Non-hemorrhagic stroke patients can be overcome with AIUEO speech therapy as a non-pharmacological therapy to improve communication skills.
