Abstract
Background The high prevalence of hypertension seen from the number of patients aged >65 years is one of the factors that influences the length of stay of hypertensive patients in hospital, so it is necessary to conduct research on risk factors for length of stay. Objective: To determine the risk factors that predict the length of stay for patients with hypertension at Prembun Regional Hospital for the period January-August 2023. Methods: Descriptive research using a retrospective purposive sampling design. The sample used was 267 patients. Data analysis used the Chi square test. Results: The chi square results showed that there was a relationship between hypertension risk factors in hemoglobin data (p=0.000), with length of stay (p<0.05) and showed that there was an influence of hypertension risk factors on age, OR value 1,050, blood pressure OR value 1,530, leukocyte value OR 1.357, SGOT value OR 1.405, SGPT value OR 1.513, Ureum value OR 1.401, GDS value OR 1.162, HDL Cholesterol value OR 1.912, Triglycerides value OR 2.071, LDL Cholesterol value OR 2.259, Comorbid value OR 1.558 and medication therapy value OR 1.092 with long hospitalization due to OR (>1). Conclusion: There is a relationship between risk factors for hypertension between hemoglobin laboratory data and length of stay and there is an influence between the risk factors for hypertension: age, blood pressure, leukocytes, SGOT, SGPT, Urea, GDS, HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL Cholesterol, Comorbidities and medication therapy with length of stay stay. Recommendation: Further research needs to be done using other risk factors such as patient lifestyle and length of stay.
