Abstract
Background: Complaint about the lack of breast milk production is a problem with the incidence rate between 11-54% (Riskerdas, 2013). Kusumaningrum (2016), states that 26.7% the breast milkdoes not flow out on the first day and 45,5% has not flown out more than three days of post partum.This is one of the causes of the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding for infants under six months so that most infants get formula milk at birth. One of the simplest ways to overcome this problem is by applying oxytocin massage using lavender oil (Yuliana, 2016). Objective: To apply the application of oxytocin massage using lavender oil to improve the outflow of breast milk of post partum mother in Independent Midwifery Clinic (BPM) of Yustinat Rowokele, Ayah, Kebumen. Method: This study is an analytical descriptive. This is done by describing the research obtained directly either through interviews or direct observation to obtain an accurate conclusion. The study was conducted from April 14 to April 24, 2017 at BPM Yustinat Rowokele, Ayah, Kebumen,the frequency is twice a day during 15 minutes for 5 consecutive days. Result: After applying oxytocin massage using lavender oil, the breast milk outflowof 3 participantsincrease.The indicatorsare the breast feeding > 8 times per day, BAK frequency > 6 times per day and the duration sleep of the baby >20 hours. Conclusion: The application of oxytocin massage using lavender oil is proven to be able toimprove the breast milk outflow of post partum mother.
