Abstract
Background: Undernutrition is a form of severe malnutrition that lasts in the long term, caused by a lack of protein as well as energy from food. Many factors affect malnutrition either directly or indirectly. Objectives: Determine the factors associated with undernutrition in toddlers aged 24-59 months at the Jatilawang Health Center.Method: This study was quantitative with a cross sectional study approach with a sample of 71 toddlers. The instrument used is a questionnaire Result: Based on the results of the chi-square test, there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding (p-value=0.000<0.005), infectious diseases (p-value=0.000<0.005), and maternal knowledge (p-value=0.000<0.005) with malnutrition in toddlers aged 24-59 months at the Jatilawang Health Center. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding, infectious diseases and maternal knowledge with malnutrition in toddlers aged 24-59 months at the Jatilawang Health Center. Recommendation: It is hoped that health workers will further improve health promotion with some more innovative counseling as their role to achieve a goal, namely improving maternal and child health.
