Abstract

Background: The problem of toddler development in developing countries was generally influenced by two factors, namely poor nutrition and infectious diseases. One infectious disease that was still a problem in toddlers was respiratory tract infections because the immune system in toddlers was not optimal. Toddlers needed balanced nutrition so that their nutritional status was good, and the growth process was not hampered. Toddlers who experienced less nutritional status then the body's defense system and antibodies decreased, so toddlers were more susceptible to infection. Objective: To determine the description of the incidence of ISPA in toddlers based on nutritional status in the Working Area of the Gombong II Health Center. Method: This study used a type of descriptive research using a retrospective approach. The population in this study was all toddlers in the Working Area of Puskesmas Gombong II, which amounted to 430 toddlers. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling and obtained 207 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis in this study used univariate tests. Result: The results of the univariate test stated that the incidence of malnutrition in toddlers with the incidence of ISPA in the Working Area of the Gombong II Health Center was mostly in the undernutrition category with a percentage of 42.02%, and the incidence of ISPA in toddlers was mostly in the pneumonia category of 73.92%. Conclusion: The incidence of malnutrition in toddlers with the incidence of ISPA in the Working Area of the Gombong II Health Center was mostly in the undernutrition category with a percentage of 42.02%, and the incidence of ISPA in toddlers was mostly in the pneumonia category at 73.92%.
