Abstract

Background: Malnutrition is currently a serious problem in Indonesia. Malnutrition can occur because nutritional needs have not been met when the fetus is still in the womb until the baby is born. One of the health problems that occur in the fetus is stunting. Sustainable nutritional problems are caused by the lack of knowledge of mothers about nutrition before or during pregnancy. Objective: Describes Nursing Care with Knowledge Deficit Problems in Pregnant Women through Education on Pregnancy Nutrition Needs to Avoid the Risk of Stunting in Buluspesantren II Community Health Center work area. Method: This scientific paper uses a descriptive method with a case study approach in the form of nursing care for 3 pregnant women in the first trimester who experience a deficit in knowledge of pregnancy nutritional needs. Results: The results of the assessment of 3 pregnant women found a lack of understanding of pregnancy nutritional needs. Nursing diagnosis of knowledge deficit related to lack of exposure to information. Actions were carried out 3 times with education on pregnancy nutritional needs using the lecture method with discussion. The results of the evaluation after the intervention of pregnancy nutritional needs education showed an increase in the level of maternal knowledge. Recommendation: Education on nutritional needs during pregnancy using lecture methods with discussions can increase mothers' knowledge.
