Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is an extraordinary event that takes place in a woman's womb and will last approximately 280 days starting from the first day of the last menstruation. One of the problems of pregnancy is lower back pain during pregnancy, especially the third trimester of pregnancy. Objective: Describe nursing care for third trimester pregnant women who complain of lower back pain using effleurage massage therapy. Method: Scientific writing using descriptive research methods, providing massage effleurage therapy to pregnant women in the third trimester, collecting data through data analysis which was then presented by respondents in this study to 3 clients and 3 days of treatment. Results: The application of effleurage massage to pregnant women in the third trimester as an effort to reduce lower back pain proved to be effective with complaint of decreased lower back pain, decreased grimaces, and decreased anxiety with the result of effleurage massage therapy on the first to third day experiencing a decrease in pain. Recommendation: Effleurage massage is one solution to treat lower back pain in third trimester pregnant women.
