Abstract

Background: Family in the developmental stage with their first child entering adolescence face numerous challenges, one of which is adolescent delinquency such as smoking. Adolescent smoking can be caused by a lack of parental supervision, environmental influences, and peer pressure. Data shows that 28.55% of the population aged 15 years and older in Central Java smoke, with 19.86% in Kebumen Regency. One method to reduce smoking behavior is the use of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy. Objective: To provide an overview of family nursing care at the adolescent developmental stage with ineffective health management problems in Kedaleman Wetan Village. Methods: This scientific paper uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects in this study were families with adolescents experiencing ineffective health management problems. Results: The case study found that all three families assessed had ineffective health management issues. Interventions and implementations involved SEFT therapy conducted over seven sessions. Evaluation over ten sessions of care and seven SEFT therapy sessions showed a reduction in smoking levels, although the degree of reduction varied among individuals depending on their determination and willingness to reduce or quit smoking. Conclusion: Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy is a recommended method to help reduce smoking behavior, especially among adolescents.
