Abstract

Background: Sectio Cesarea (SC) delivery is a way of giving birth to a fetus by making an incision in the uterine wall through the front wall of the abdomen, Anxiety can occur in pre-sectiocaesarea mothers. Pregnant women with anxiety, and stress can stimulate the hormones oxytocin and prostaglandin. The method of administering lavender aromatherapy can reduce anxiety in pre-sectio caesarea mothers. Objective: Theemergent problem was anxiety. Interventions and implementations included assessing factors contributing to anxiety (causes, signs, and symptoms), measuring anxiety using the HRS-A scale, and administering lavender aromatherapy. The results showed a decrease in the HRS-A score after the intervention was carried out for 3 days. Method: This research employed a descriptive analysismethod with a case study approach. Three respondents were selected as research subjects, meeting the criteria of pre-cesarean section mothers with an HRS-A score >14. Results: The problem that emerged was anxiety. Interventions and Implementations that emerged included, examining the factors that caused anxiety (causes, signs and symptoms), measuring anxiety using the HRS-A scale, administering lavender aromatherapy. The results were obtained after the action was carried out for 3 days, there was a decrease in the HRS-A score. Recommendation: The administration of lavender aromatherapy has been shown to reduce anxiety. Therefore, village midwives or integrated health posts can recommend this therapy so that pregnant women can do it independently.
