Abstract

Background: Hallucinations are one of the common symptoms of schizophrenia. Hallucinations cause clients to be unable to carry out activities completely and need to be treated immediately because it can cause a decrease in their quality of life. Nursing actions that can be taken for clients with hallucinations are by controlling hallucinations through activities, one of the activities that can be done is the activity of tie-dye batik. Objective: Describes nursing care for clients with sensory perception disorders: hallucinations with educational actions of tie-dye batik activities. Methods: The method used with case studies and descriptive approaches on 3 clients with inclusion criteria of clients who experience hallucinations, male/female, willing to be the subject of a case study, cooperative and able to communicate. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, measuring signs and symptoms of hallucinations and therapy ability measurement sheets. Results: After being given nursing care for 6 meetings, the results showed that the three clients experienced a decrease in signs of hallucination symptoms with an average decrease of 5.3. The decrease in signs and symptoms was most experienced by client 1. Increased ability in the three clients with an average increase of 6. The highest increase in ability was experienced by client 1 with an increase of 7. Recommendations: Tie-dye batik activity therapy can be integrated as part of nursing care for clients with hallucinations.
