Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is a natural way to increase offspring. Some pregnant women often experience edema in the legs. Edema in pregnant women usually appears in the third trimester. The diagnosis that appears in pregnant patients in the third trimester with edema is a disturbance of comfort. Objective: Describes nursing care for pregnant patients in the third trimester with edema using foot soak therapy with boiled kencur water. Method: The type of research is qualitative with descriptive research method; administering foot soak therapy with boiled kencur water in pregnant patients in the third trimester with edema, data collection through data analysis was then presented to respondents in this study, 3 clients and 3 days of treatment. Results: The application of foot soaking with boiled kencur water on pregnant patients in the third trimester with edema as an effort to provide a sense of comfort has proven effective with the condition of mothers complaining of discomfort decreasing, restlessness decreasing, moaning decreasing with the results of the application of foot soaking therapy with boiled kencur water on the first to third day being effective. Recommendation: Soaking feet using boiled kencur is one solution to overcome edema in pregnant women in the third trimester with edema.
