Abstract

Background: Gout Arthritis or commonly known as Gout Disease, is one of the causes of problems that are often complained about by many people, both men and women. Gout arthritis itself is the final processing of the metabolic process in the body which is formed when deposits of uric monosodium crystals are not absorbed properly, due to uric acid levels with a high amount of purines in the bloodstream (hyperuricemia), this condition can also be caused by the presence of purines in living beings that are consumed excessively in the body, The normal value of uric acid in men is about 3.5-7.0 mg/dl and for women 2.6-6.0 mg/dl. Alternative treatment that can be used as an option, one of which can be sourced from natural ingredients, which is easy to get independently such as a warm compress of ginger decoction to reduce the scale of joint pain in patients with gout arthritis, Giving a warm compress of ginger decoction can reduce joint pain, treats inflammation and provides an analgesic effect. Objective: Describing nursing care the application of ginger decoction warm compresses to reduce joint pain in people with gout arthritis Methods: This scientific paper is descriptive with a case study approach. Data were obtained from studies, interviews and observations with three respondents suffering from gout arthritis. Results: After receiving warm compress therapy with ginger decoction for 3 consecutive days, the client experienced a reduction in joint pain by 1 scale per day. Recommendation: Joint pain in people with gout arthritis can be overcome by using ginger decoction warm compress therapy as a non-pharmacological therapy to overcome joint pain, swelling, redness. This therapy can also be done independently by patients at home.
