Abstract

Background: The main mental disorder problem that often occurs in the world is sensory perception disorder: hallucinations. Hallucinations are one of the signs that accompany serious mental illness. People with mental illness can experience hallucinations, which are characterized by altered sensory perception, including the sense of sound, sight, touch, taste and smell that are not real. One way to control hallucinations is through educational gardening therapy. Objective: To describe nursing care for clients with sensory perception disorders: hallucinations through educational gardening therapy. Method: This scientific paper was conducted using a descriptive analysis method with a case study approach. Data were obtained from interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review. This study utilized educational gardening therapy for clients with sensory perception disorders: hallucinations, with a 15-30 minute format for the signs and symptoms of hallucinations. Results: The problem that emerged was hallucinations. Interventions and Implementations that emerged included before the action was taken. Results of the decrease in signs and symptoms of hallucinations in the three clients, namely client I scored 4 (33.4%) moderate level, client II scored 4 (33.3%) moderate level and client III scored 3 (25%) mild level. According to the level of the most significant decrease in hallucinations occurred in client III. Recommendation: Educational therapy and gardening therapy are recommended to be applied to clients with hallucinations
