Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is one of the ten diseases with the highest mortality rates. According to data from the InternationalDiabetes Federation (IDF), globally will be 537 million adults living with diabetes mellitus (DM) in 2021. Genetic and metabolic factors contribute to the risk of acquiring type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle changes have contributed significantly to the increase in the number of people suffering from diabetes. Unhealthy diets, a lack of exercise, and smoking can all increase the risk of acquiring type 2 Diabetes. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to incidence of Type II DiabetesMellitus at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method : This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional methodology. A simple random sampling procedure was used to collect the sample of 100 diabetic patients. Chi-squared tests are used in statistical analysis. Results: Diabetes incidence is related to age, gender, diet, and stress levels. While work is unrelated to the incidence of diabetes. Conclusion: The incidence of type II diabetes mellitus at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital is impacted by age, gender, food, and stress levels. Recommendation: The hospital is advised to improve diabetes mellitus patient care by spending more attention to stress levels
