Abstract

Background, Hypertension is a degenerative disease with high prevalence and is still a global health problem. The use of drugs antihypertensive drugs is one way to reduce pressure effectively and efficiently. efficient. The effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy must be achieved so as to produce controlled hypertension. Objective, Describe the drug use and effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy in outpatients at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen for the period 2024. Method, This study used non-experimental design with a descriptive approach. The research data was obtained through retrospective analysis of secondary data from the medical records of hypertensive patients who were treated at Dr. Soedirman Kebumen Hospital in the period of 2024. Results, This study obtained 100 samples based on the gender of most female patients (59%) and the highest age at the age of 46-65 years (50%), single therapy that is often used is the ARB class (7%) with candesartan (5%) and telmisartan (2%) and the combination of antihypertensive drugs most often used is a combination of 3 drugs (46%), namely a combination of ARB + CCB + Diuretics (33%), and the effectiveness of therapy reaches 72%. Conclusion, The most commonly used single antihypertensive drug was ARB (7%) and the most commonly used combination of antihypertensive drugs was a combination of 3 drugs (46%), and the effectiveness of therapy reached 72%. Recommendation: Suggests conducting research on what factors affect the effectiveness of antihypertensive therapy prospectively.
