Abstract

Background : coffee consumption and smoking consumption among teenagers are increasing. The results of a preliminary study in many adult men consume smoking and cigarettes and the results of interviews in Jetis Hamlet found out about smoking and coffee habits. According to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2021) report, Indonesia is the second highest percentage of total tobacco users in Asia at around 37.9% and excessive caffeine coffee can increase heart, blood pressure, anxiety, etc. Objective : Identifying the relationship between coffee consumption and smoking habits and the risk of hypertension in adult men in Jetis Village. Method : This study uses a quasi-experimental method with the type of approach used is a questionnaire and a tension device. The research sample was 82 respondents with a random sampling technique. The instruments used to collect data were a 15-item cigarette questionnaire and a 10-item coffee questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi square test. The results : of this research show that there is an influence in increasing knowledge about the dangers of smoking and there is no significant difference between the focus group discussion, snowball throwing and video based methods. Learning to increase knowledge (p=0.100) The conclusion of this research is that the focus group discussion, Snowball throwing and Video Based Learning methods are effective methods for increasing knowledge about the dangers of smoking in teenagers. Suggestions : Future researchers are expected to research health education in adolescents by comparing health education methods with other methods
