Abstract

Background: Elderly (elderly) is a condition that occurs in human life, the elderly will experience degenerative decline and the most common diseases in the elderly are non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including hypertension. Hypertension is a non-communicable disease, often known as high blood pressure in which the blood vessels experience a systemic or long-term increase above the normal 140/90 mmHg. One action that can be taught to reduce or stabilize blood pressure in the elderly is walking for 30 minutes. Purpose: The general aim of writing this Final Scientific Work for Nurses is to describe the results of the analysis of nursing care for elderly families with ineffective family health management problems for hypertensive patients in Jatimulyo Village. Results: From the results of the evaluation carried out on the seventh day, it was found that there was a decrease in blood pressure in five patients with the highest average decrease obtained by family 1 with a mean of 16.7 mmHg. Apart from that, the five patients also said they felt more comfortable and did not experience complaints of hypertension. From these results concluded that 30 minutes of walking therapy was effective in reducing blood pressure in elderly patients. Recommendation: It is hoped that future researchers will be able to examine 30 minute walking therapy in adult hypertensive patients.
