Abstract

Background: Patients who have experienced a stroke for the first time can cause depression and anxiety disorders. Excessive emotional control is needed in reducing anxiety. one of them with benson relaxation. General objectives: to analyze nursing care with the nursing problem of anxiety in stroke patients using Benson Relaxation therapy in the Bougenvil room of HJ. Anna Lasmanah Banjarnegara Hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive case study design on 5 stroke patients by applying benson relaxation, giving 10 minutes for 4 days. Questionnaires in measuring anxiety using the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42). Nursing care results: Assessment of patients is partly elderly with ages 65 years to 73 years and the majority of women by 80%. The anxiety level before therapy averaged a score of 23.8 moderate category and the highest score in patient 1 and patient 4 with a score of 26 moderate anxiety category. The results of the patient's ability obtained an average decrease in anxiety for 4 days with an average of 4 scores and the highest average decrease in anxiety with a score of 4.4 (92.30%) was in patient 4. Conclusion: There is an effectiveness of Benson relaxation in reducing the anxiety of stroke patients in the Bougenvil Room of HJ. Anna Lasmanah Banjarnegara Hospital. Recommendation: Benson relaxation is recommended to reduce anxiety in stroke patients.
