Abstract
Background: According to the International Diabetes Federation, the incidence of diabetes is predicted to rise rapidly, reaching 537 million people by 2021. Diabetes Mellitus is a disease caused by destruction to the pancreas, resulting in an inadequate level of insulin hormone and an imbalance in blood glucose levels in the body. Foot exercises are a type of exercise for patients with diabetes that aim for improving circulation in the feet, providing blood to flow easily. Objective: To explain ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion nursing care in patients with diabetes mellitus. Method: This case study uses a descriptive case study approach. The case study included five adult asthmatic patients. Data is collected using observation, interviews, and documentation research procedures. Result: The results showed that after receiving foot exercises, five patients' tissue perfusion got better, with an ABI calculation higher than 0.9. Conclusion: Diabetic foot exercise therapy is helpful in overcoming ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion in type 2 diabetes patients.
