Abstract

Background: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) refers to actions taken consciously by individuals or family members to maintain personal health. Diarrhoea remains a global health issue, particularly in Indonesia, and is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among children under five worldwide. Objective: To examine the relationship between clean and healthy living behaviours and the incidence of diarrhoea in school-aged children at SD Negeri 2 Kebulusan. Methods: This study employed a descriptive quantitative correlation method with a crosssectional approach. Random sampling was used, resulting in a sample of 85 respondents. Results: The research showed that most respondents had poor clean and healthy living behaviour, with 71 students (83.5%) exhibiting poor P.H.B.S., while 14 students (16.5%) demonstrated good P.H.B.S. Among the 85 children, 69 (81.2%) experienced diarrhoea, and 16 (18.8%) did not. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between clean and healthy living behaviour and the incidence of diarrhoea in school-aged children, with a significance value of 0.001 (<0.05). Recommendation: Future research should explore other factors associated with diarrhoea in school-aged children.
