Abstract

Background : Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the Myobacteriun Tuberculosis bacteria. The 2022 Global TB Report states that Indonesia is the country with the second highest number of new cases in the world after India. Compliance with TB sufferers in their treatment can be influenced by several things, one of which is knowledge. Good knowledge will give rise to attitudes about the disease starting from positive responses, acceptance, and discussions about the disease with other people. The results of the initial research survey in the work area of the Karanggayam II Health Center showed that the number of TB sufferers was 45 people, which was an increase from the previous year, which was 42 people. Objective : To determine the relationship between knowledge of RB patients and compliance with taking medication in the work area of Karanggayam II Community Health Center. Method : This research uses quantitative research methods using a cross-sectional approach. The technique used to collect samples was a total sampling of 45 pulmonary TB patients who sought treatment at the Karanggayam II Community Health Center. Result : The research results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge of TB patients and compliance with taking medication in the Karanggayam II Community Health Center working area with a p-value = 0.003<0.05 with a positive relationship direction. Conclution : There is a significant relationship between knowledge of TB patients and compliance with taking medication in the Karanggayam II Health Center community working area. Recommendation : Further research needs to be done regarding other factors that can influence medication adherence in TB patients.
