Abstract

Background: High blood pressure is a health problem that is still very high in society and if left unchecked can cause a stroke. In addition to a healthy lifestyle, stress control, and medication adherence, non-pharmacological therapy can also be applied to control blood pressure to remain stable. Purpose: to determine the effect of soaking feet with warm ginger water on blood pressure of hypertensive patients in Poncowarno Village Research method: this research is Quasy Experiment. Samples were taken using consecutive sampling technique, namely as many as 34 people. The sample was divided into two groups, namely the intervention group of 17 people and the control group of 17 people. Data analysis used Wilcoxon to test before and after treatment and Mann Whitney U Test to test 2 groups Results: There was no significant difference in the pre-test and post-test blood pressure scores of the control group with p=0.655 for systolic blood pressure and p=0.900 for diastolic blood pressure. There was a significant difference in pre-test and post-test blood pressure scores. intervention group test with p = 0.002 on systolic blood pressure and p = 0.003 on diastolic blood pressure. There was a significant difference in blood pressure after giving a foot bath with warm ginger water between the control group and the intervention group with a p=0.000 systolic blood pressure and a p=0.005 diastolic blood pressure. Conclusion: there is an effect of soaking feet with warm ginger water on the blood pressure of hypertensive patients in Tanjungsari village Recommendation: The program of soaking feet with warm ginger water needs to be encouraged at every health center
