Abstract
Background: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory disorder of the joints and is generally characterized by joint pain, stiffness, decreased mobility, and fatigue. Ineffective health care occurs when an individual or family experiences or is at risk of developing health problems due to an unhealthy lifestyle or lack of knowledge about managing their condition. The role of the family is crucial in maintaining the health of the elderly, namely by changing their behavior towards a clean and healthy lifestyle. Research Objective: To determine the ineffectiveness of family nursing care for elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis in Nusawungu Village, Nusawungu District. Research Method: This research was descriptive, utilizing a case study method. Research Results: Families understood rheumatoid arthritis, were able to explain their health problems, address them, and reduce risk factors. The average pain scale score decreased from 6 (moderate pain) to 1 (mild pain). This therapy proved effective for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Conclusion: Families understood rheumatoid arthritis, and the healthcare team was advised to assist in maintaining their health and providing appropriate and correct nursing care for patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
