Abstract

Background: Bronchial asthma is a chronic disease that disturbs the airways due to airway obstruction caused by bronchial hyperresponsiveness, which comes from stimulation causing inflammation and swelling in the airways. Symptoms experienced by bronchial asthma are, shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing at night. One of the nonpharmacological treatments to reduce shortness of breath is to perform hot steam inhalation therapy using eucalyptus oil aromatherapy. Objective: To describe nursing care in patients with bronchial asthma in reducing shortness of breath Method: The design of writing this scientific paper adopted a descriptive research approach in the form of a case study. With the clients subject having a history of asthma as many as 3 respondents in Brecong village which was held over 3 meetings. To find out how short of breath you are, stick to the observation sheet. Results: After applying hot water vapor inhalation therapy using eucalyptus oil aromatherapy for 3 meetings in 1 week 2 days, the shortness of breath of the three clients decreased with an average decrease of 2-3 degrees per meeting Recommendation: Patients with bronchial asthma can be treated with hot steam inhalation therapy by using eucalyptus oil aromatherapy as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce shortness of breath
