Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus (D.M.) can be defined as a group of metabolic diseases. Factors influencing DM are age, family history, obesity, diet, physical activity, and stress. In the world, the incidence of DM was 10.4% (642 million) in 2020. In Indonesia, people with Diabetes Mellitus have 10.3 million people aged 20-79 years. The Central Java Health Service (2016) reported that Diabetes is in second place after hypertension and increased by 15.77% in 2015 to 22.1% in 2016. In Kebumen, there are 13,110 people with diabetes mellitus. Objective: Knowing the relationship between factors and the incidence of Diabetes mellitus in Candiwulan village, Adimulyo subdistrict. Method: Quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected using a purposive sampling technique on residents of Candiwulan village aged 18- 59 years with a population of 2054 people. There were 95 respondents. The research instrument uses a questionnaire. Analysis uses the chi square test. Results: This study's results showed a relationship between age and the incidence of Diabetes mellitus (0.004), diet and diabetes mellitus (0.029), stress and diabetes mellitus (0.003), family history and diabetes mellitus (0.000), obesity and diabetes mellitus (0.000), and physical activity and diabetes mellitus (0.000). Conclusion: Age, diet, stress, family history, obDiabetesnd physical activity are factors related to the occurrence of diabetes mellitus. Recommendation: Future researchers can conduct research in another way, namely by looking at factors that influence the occurrence of diabetes mellitus such as age, obesity, family history, diet, physical activity, and stress.
