Abstract
Background: Typhoid fever, an infectious disease that often affects children, often causes Background: Hypertension, often referred to as the "silent killer," has a high prevalence in Kebumen and is frequently accompanied by neck pain. Guided imagery has the potential to be a non-pharmacological solution for reducing this pain. Objective: To analyze nursing care for hypertensive patients with acute pain at RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Kutowinangun. Methods: This study used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The subjects were five hypertensive patients with acute pain. The instruments used included nursing care formats, a Nursing Kit, and a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for guided imagery intervention. Data analysis was performed descriptively and qualitatively. Data were presented in tables and narratives. Results: The assessment of hypertensive patients revealed that the main complaint was acute head pain with a pain scale of 4 to 5. The priority nursing diagnosis was acute pain related to physiological injuring agents. The nursing interventions implemented were pain scale assessment, vital sign measurement, and the application of guided imagery. The nursing evaluation showed that acute pain related to physiological injuring agents was resolved, as indicated by a decrease in the pain scale of 2-3 points after the guided imagery intervention. The innovative intervention of guided imagery effectively reduced pain in hypertensive patients. Conclusion: The application of guided imagery is effective in reducing pain intensity in hypertensive patients with acute pain at RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Kutowinangun. Recommendations: The hospital is expected to develop an SOP related to the application of guided imagery, provide supporting facilities, and conduct continuing training for nurses.
