Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a serious disease and often does not show early symptoms. Acute pain in the head is one of the common symptoms in hypertensive patients. This symptom if left untreated can cause ongoing pain, thus requiring nursing interventions to reduce pain. Myofascial Release Therapy (MRT) is a nonpharmacological therapy that has significant potential to reduce acute pain in hypertensive patients. Objective: Describe nursing care with the provision of non-pharmacological therapy Myofascial Release Therapy (MRT) to reduce the acute pain scale in hypertensive patients in the Emergency Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: In the preparation of this scientific paper, the researcher used a descriptive method with a case study approach. The samples in this study were 5 patients with a diagnosis of hypertension. Nursing Care Results: After carrying out the nursing process in 5 patients with hypertension who complained of acute pain scale 4 and 5 for 10 minutes with the application of Myofascial Release Therapy (MRT) therapy. An evaluation of the results showed a decrease in the value of the moderate to mild pain scale with an average of 3 numbers. Conclusion: The provision of Myofascial Release Therapy (MRT) therapy has a significant effect on reducing the acute pain scale in patients with hypertension Recommendations: The results of this study can be applied to patients with acute pain to reduce the pain scale.
