Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease is a condition characterized by a gradual and permanent decline in kidney function. Chronic kidney disease ranks among the top 10 causes of death worldwide. Approximately 850 million people suffer from kidney disease, with 1.2 million deaths annually. Objective: To describe the analysis of nursing care for patients with chronic kidney failure experiencing anxiety problems through the application of spiritual guided imagery psychotherapy in the Al-Mukmin 2 Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital Method: This scientific work uses a case study approach involving 5 subjects who received nursing care over 7 sessions. The intervention provided was spiritual guided imagery therapy for 30–60 minutes in each session, using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), a psychosocial nursing care format, and a spiritual guided imagery therapy SOP. Results: After receiving the therapy, patients experienced a decrease in anxiety and an improvement in the ability to perform spiritual guided imagery therapy. The average HADS score before the intervention was 13 (61,9%), which decreased to 8.6 (40,9%) after the intervention, indicating a reduction in anxiety levels post-intervention. Conclusion: Spiritual guided imagery therapy had an effect on reducing anxiety levels in patients with chronic kidney disease. Recommendation: It is expected that spiritual guided imagery therapy can be used as an intervention for chronic kidney disease patients experiencing anxiety.
