Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure reaching more than 140 mmHg and diastolic ≥ 90 mmHg in the arteries that occurs consistently. Objective: To explain the results of the analysis of nursing care for hypertensive patients with a combination of foot soak therapy using warm water mixed with salt and lemongrass to lower blood pressure in Karangtengah Village, Poncowarno Region. Method: This research paper uses a case study with a sample of five patients. The instruments used were an observation sheet and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The intervention was conducted in three 15-minute sessions. Nursing Care Results: The nursing problem in the scientific work was ineffective peripheral perfusion. Implementation was carried out for 3 x meetings within 15 minutes. The evaluation results in the 5 patients showed changes, namely decreased blood pressure, decreased complaints of paresthesia, decreased cramps and the patient was able to perform warm water foot soak therapy with a mixture of salt and lemongrass independently. Recommendation: The results of the innovation show that the innovation of foot soak therapy using warm water mixed with salt and lemongrass can lower blood pressure and it is hoped that hypertensive patients who experience paresthesia can apply this intervention.
