Abstract

Background : Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot optimally use the insulin it produces. Based on the 2023 Central Java Health Profile, the estimated number of individuals suffering from Diabetes Mellitus reached 624,082 people. Type 2 diabetes mellitus impacts a patient's physical health, reducing their quality of life, especially if blood sugar levels are uncontrolled. One of the main determinants of quality of life for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus is family support. Research Review : This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and quality of life in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Gombong II Community Health Center. Research Methods : This research was quantitative with a correlational approach. The population was type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Gombong II Community Health Center, with a sample of 56 respondents selected using a random sampling technique.total sampling. Data analysis using testsSpearman rho. Research Result : The results of the study showed that most respondents had family support in the good category (87.5%) and quality of life in the good category (82.1%). The test resultsSpearman rho, showNilai Approximate Significance(Sig.) is 0.796, which means it is greater than 0.05 with a correlation coefficient valuePearson(r) is −0.035. Conclusion : There is no relationship between family support and quality of life in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients at Gombong II Community Health Center. Recommendations : Further research is expected to develop issues of quality of life in type 2 DM patients, factors that influence quality of life and the effectiveness of education about family support and quality of life in type 2 DM patients
