Abstract
Background: Fever in children often occurs. Treating a child for fever in hospital can trigger anxiety and cause trauma. Medical play therapy is play therapy whose game concept is like introducing medical equipment. This is important for children's physical, emotional, mental, social, intellectual and creative development. Objective: To describe the use of play therapy to reduce anxiety in children in hospital when treating children with fever. Method: This scientific work uses a descriptive case study design. A case study approach of 5 febrile child patients who experienced anxiety. The actions taken were to provide medical play therapy and to measure the level of anxiety using the HARS scale. Results: The nursing problems that emerged in the five patients were fever and anxiety diagnoses. The intervention that will be carried out is providing medical play therapy. From the implementation results, it was found that the five patients experienced a decrease in anxiety levels after providing medical play therapy. Conclusion: The action of providing medical play therapy can be done to reduce anxiety during hospitalization. Recommendation: It is hoped that medical play therapy can be applied and carried out when treating children who experience anxiety.
