Abstract

Background: Transparent solid soap is a popular cosmetic product due to its clear appearance, high aesthetic value, and gentler foaming ability. Butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea L.) and sweet mango leaf (Mangifera indica L.) contain flavonoids and saponins, which have potential as natural antioxidants and antibacterial agents. The combination of these two extracts in transparent solid soap formulations is thought to affect the quality of the product, particularly its physical properties, so an evaluation is needed to ensure its compliance with quality standards. Research Objective: This study aims to formulate transparent solid soap combining butterfly pea flower and sweet mango leaf extracts and evaluate its physical properties according to the specified requirements. Research Methods: This study was experimental in nature, involving the production of transparent solid soap using four formulas, namely F0 as a control and F1, F2, and F3 with variations in extract concentration of 1%, 1.3%, and 1.5%, respectively. The evaluation included organoleptic testing, pH, moisture content, foam height, free alkali, and free fatty acids. Research Results: The results showed that all formulas met the quality requirements for transparent solid soap, namely organoleptic testing, pH testing, foam height testing, moisture content testing, free alkali content testing, and free fatty acid testing. Formula 1 can be recommended as the best formula. Conclusion: Transparent solid soap combining blue pea flower extract and sweet mango leaves meets the physical property requirements according to the standard. Recommendations: Further research is recommended to develop the formula and test biological activity to enhance the functional value of the preparation.
