Abstract

Background:Mild Head Injury (MCI) is a clinical condition caused by external trauma to the head that can lead to temporary neurological dysfunction. The primary nursing problem that frequently arises in MCI patients in the Emergency Department (IGD) is acute pain. unmanaged pain can increase intracranial pressure and worsen the patient's condition. One effective non-pharmacological intervention is the technique offinger holdor finger grip, which works by aligning the body's energy to provide a relaxing effect and reduce pain intensity Method:This study used a case study design for nursing care for CKR patients diagnosed with acute pain in the Emergency Room of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Regional Hospital. Interventions were carried out based on the PPNI standards combined with innovative techniques.finger holdThe procedure involves holding the patient's finger for 15 minutes while periodically monitoring vital signs. Results:The results of the assessment showed that before the intervention, the patient complained of moderate pain (scale 4-5). After being given the technique, finger holdOver a 15-minute period, pain levels gradually decreased. The final evaluation showed a decrease in the pain scale to mild (scale 2-3), the patient appeared calmer, and the grimacing response decreased. Conclusion:Techniquefinger holdhas been shown to be effective as a complementary intervention in reducing acute pain in patients with mild head injuries in the emergency department (ED). These results align with research by Firmada et al. (2021), which found that finger grip relaxation can reduce the sympathetic nervous system's response to pain. Nurses are expected to apply this technique independently as part of emergency nursing care.
