Abstract

Background: Head injuries can cause trauma to parts of the head such as the skull, scalp, and brain. Head injury is the most common and serious neurological condition among other conditions. Head injuries account for an epidemic proportion of traffic accidents. Therefore, a possible solution is to provide Guided Imagery and Music relaxation. General Objective: To provide nursing care to patients with Mild Head Injury (CKR) using Guided Imagery and Music relaxation interventions to improve pain levels. Method: The design of this final research paper for nurses used a case study method, with five hypertensive patients who met the inclusion criteria and were diagnosed with acute pain. The nursing intervention provided was pain management using 15-minute guided imagery and music relaxation, performed three times daily for five days. Evaluation was based on changes in pain intensity before and after therapy using a Numeric Rating Scale. Nursing Care Outcomes: The pain assessment before the guided imagery and music relaxation therapy resulted in an average pain score of moderate (5). After the guided imagery and music relaxation therapy, administered three times daily for four days, there was a decrease in pain, with an average pain score of mild (2). Recommendation: Guided imagery and music relaxation can be implemented in nursing practice to reduce pain intensity in patients with mild head injury (MCI).
