Abstract
Pharmaceutical services in community pharmacies are not only oriented toward drug dispensing but also play a role in monitoring disease patterns within the community through a pharmacoepidemiological approach. This study aimed to evaluate patient complaint patterns and analyze their implications for pharmaceutical service planning at Permata Medika Pharmacy. This study employed a descriptive cross-sectional design using a total sampling technique of all patients who visited on May 7, 2025 (n=30). Data were collected through documentation of patients’ primary complaints and analyzed using frequency distribution and percentage calculations. The results showed that the most common complaints were pain and inflammation (26.7%), followed by respiratory tract infections (20.0%), and skin disorders and allergies (16.7%). Complaints were more frequently observed among adult and elderly patients. The evaluation indicated that drug availability at the pharmacy was generally aligned with community needs; however, improvements are required in clinical pharmacy services, particularly in providing safe medication counseling for elderly patients, monitoring chronic disease therapy, and developing a routine patient complaint documentation system. Simple epidemiological evaluation in community pharmacies can serve as a basis for data-driven pharmaceutical service planning and quality improvement
