Abstract
Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a serious reduction in kidney function that occurs progressively over long periods (chronic) and is caused by a variety of kidney disorders. It is progressive and cannot be reversed. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients' need on hemodialysis throughout their lifetimes will have far-reaching consequences and frequently cause complications. Patients undergoing hemodialysis often experience anxiety and pain as a result of insertion of the needle into the fistulas. This establishes discomfort and stress among hemodialysis patients. Slow deep breathing therapy is one relaxing technique that can be utilized to relieve acute discomfort in individuals with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Objective: to analyze nursing care for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients using slow deep breathing therapy in the hemodialysis room at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Sruweng. Method: This type of research is descriptive and uses a case study technique. The sample size was five patients. The instruments used in this case study include the nursing care format, the Slow deep breathing relaxation procedure form, and the pain scale assessment form before and after the intervention. The case study was conducted across three meetings. Data analysis was carried out using frequency and percentage tables. Results: The results of the assessment showed that the five patients had the same problem, namely pain in the hemodialysis access area. The primary nursing diagnosis is acute pain. The intervention carried out was pain management with non-pharmacological therapy, slow deep breathing relaxation. Results After slow deep breathing relaxation therapy, patients experienced a decrease in pain with an average decrease of 2-3 on the scale. Recommendation: Slow deep breathing relaxation therapy can be recommended to reduce acute pain in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients
