Abstract

Background: Continuity of Care (CoC) midwifery services are comprehensive and continuous services provided during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn care, and family planning to detect complications early and improve maternal and infant health outcomes. The implementation of complementary therapies such as oxytocin massage and infant massage may support the success of midwifery care. Objective: To provide comprehensive and continuous midwifery care for Mrs. E, 27 years old, G2P1A0 at PMB Fatkhul Baeti Rohmah., Amd.Keb accompanied by the application of complementary therapies. Methods: This scientific paper employed a case study method using the midwifery management approach with SOAP documentation, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of continuous midwifery care. Results: Pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn, and family planning care were carried out physiologically without complications. During the postpartum period, oxytocin massage was provided as a complementary therapy due to inadequate breast milk production, and the intervention showed improvement in breast milk output. Furthermore, healthy infant massage was performed on the 14-day-old baby to promote comfort and support optimal growth and development. The mother chose the 3-month injectable contraceptive method because it was considered safe for breastfeeding and suitable for her needs. Recommendation: Health workers are expected to enhance the implementation of continuity of care midwifery services and complementary therapies according to maternal and infant needs in order to improve the quality of midwifery care services.
